Japan donates to Cuba more than five million dollars in health equipment

Japan made a donation of medical equipment to Cuba to be able to face the crisis that Cuba is facing due to the coronavirus, the donation was valued at 5 million dollars.

The donation is made up of several machines of great importance for the country:

  • 13 mobile x-rays.

  • 44 ultrasounds.

  • 1000 vacuum cleaners.

All the equipment will be sent to all hospitals in the country. The Japanese ambassador in the middle of the delivery ceremony, said that all donations are part of a non-reimbursable financial aid from the Japanese government's Economic and Social Development Program for Cuba, this program was signed in 2016.

In 2021, the Tokyo embassy in Cuba received a donation of 25 pulmonary ventilators and also 25 support cars, these donations were seen to help the high number of positive cases of the coronavirus.

In 2020 Japan signed an agreement with Cuba to provide financial aid of 500 million Japanese yen, 4.7 million US dollars, this 500 million was valued in ultrasound equipment, x-rays, and some emergency suction machines for all hospitals and polyclinics from the country.

In 2018, Japan also donated the Island of equipment for the digitization of the imaging system to the country's highest priority hospitals, this donation was an equivalent of medical equipment in dollars of about 10 million.
