Normality has been coming little by little to the nations of the world, after almost two years of confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic; Countries have been establishing certain criteria for the mobility of people, especially those that receive the greatest number of tourists per year.
One of the most anticipated has been the United States, a nation that opened its borders last Monday, November 8 to receive tourists, and has established protocols for the entry of people to the country, and among its main requirements is the application of a vaccine against Covid-19.
The North American authorities established rules that benefit visitors from 33 countries of the European Union, as well as the United Kingdom, Brazil and India, which were not allowed to enter the nation, due to the high number of infections they registered daily.
The requirements that the US demands of tourists to enter the country
1. Be Vaccinated. The main requirement that the United States is demanding from foreigners is the presentation of the vaccination certificate with the complete doses, this must be shown to the employees of the airline with which they travel.
Travelers will be able to show the vaccination card in physical or digital form. In addition, the United States is requiring that people have applied the only dose of Johnson & Johnson two weeks before the trip, or the second of the brands accepted by the World Health Organization (WHO).
2. PCR test. In addition to the anticovid vaccine, travelers must show a negative C-reactive protein (CRP) test, which must have been performed at least three days before the flight.
3. Recovery certificate. Those people who have recently been infected with Coronavirus must present a document certifying their recovery 90 days before the trip, as well as a letter from a doctor authorizing them to travel.
4. Not vaccinated. The United States government has said that it will allow access to the country for unvaccinated people who present contraindications to it, and therefore cannot receive it. Similarly, the unvaccinated may enter the nation when their trip is for emergencies or humanitarian reasons.
What vaccines does the United States accept?
As is well known, the United States government has been very radical on the issue of vaccines, and only allows those people who have been vaccinated with doses of the brands approved by the World Health Organization to enter their country., such as: Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac and Sinopharm. The Russian Sputnik-V is not accepted by the US authorities.
Americans who want to return to their country
For US citizens, who are about to return to their homeland, and have not been vaccinated, the only requirement that is being demanded at the moment is a negative PCR test carried out one day before the trip.
They must also show a document that certifies that they bought a test that will be carried out when it arrives in the nation.
