Mexican family arrives in Romania after escaping from Ukraine
Citizens residing in Ukraine, have decided to evacuate the country after the beginning of the Russian military invasion.
After the beginning of the conflicts generated in Ukraine by the invasion of the Russian military, thousands of citizens decided to flee the territory to the Eastern European country.
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrad Casaubón, confirmed that the first Mexican family arrived in Romania on Friday.
Twenty- two families trying to escape from Ukraine are expected to arrive in the city of Siret in the next few hours. They will immediately receive assistance so that they can remain in the Mexican embassy for the next few days.
Ebrad also detailed that Andrés López Obrador, president of Mexico, confirmed a special flight by the Mexican Air Force to repatriate citizens who wish to evacuate from the European continent.
The Mexican ambassador to Ukraine, Olga García Guillén, reported that the first group that arrived shows the result of the process that began a week before the start of the confrontation between the Russian Army and Ukraine.
He also explained that after the government of Vladimir Putin threatened military invasion, 32 families began to move voluntarily to the southwest of Ukraine.
The Mexican foreign minister has extended his solidarity from the city of Kiev to Romania, for all citizens who hope to get out of this attack.
