As usual, we have exhausted the total of the earth's natural resources without finishing the seventh month of the year, which means that we will begin to absorb what the earth is not capable of producing in the following months. This is one of the main causes of global warming.

Overdraft Day: The planet's natural resources are already depleted in 2019

From now on, all of us are absorbing the reserves of planet earth. According to studies carried out by the NGO Global Footprint Network, we have already exhausted the allowed limit of the resources of water, land, clean air and other resources of the planet reserved for the current year.

This day is known as “Overdraft Day”, which means that the earth produced a certain number of resources, and they have already been absorbed by humans. Every year, the day of the overdraft comes earlier.

To give you a clearer idea, in 1999 the date was the first day of October and in 2017 it was four days after today (July 29), which ensures that in a couple of years humans will spend the resources of the land, long before the end of the first half of the year.

Overdraft Day: The planet's natural resources are already depleted in 2019
"The fact that the Earth's overcapacity day is July 29 means that humanity is currently using nature 1.75 times faster of what the planet's ecosystems can regenerate ", highlighted the NGO.

However, this data is a global average. Perhaps you consider that this expense of natural resources does not exist in your country. In Qatar due to its climatic conditions, the overdraft day arrives only 40 days after the start of the year, while in countries like Indonesia, it takes 1.3 years for the overdraft day to appear. But, countries like the United States would need 5 planets earth to be able to sustain them.

It is expected that by next December, during the COP25 climate summit in Santiago de Chile, new environmental issues will be addressed, and small changes will arrive.
