Russia registers more than 200 thousand positive cases of Covid-19 in one day
In the last 24 hours, 722 people have died.
In the cases between yesterday and today, there are 19,281 hospitalizations carried out in the last day for said disease. Between both days , 203,949 new infections were registered in the country.
Data from the operational center for the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic indicate that today Russia has exceeded 200,000 positive cases of Covid-19 in just one day.
In 38 regions, the number of hospitalizations has decreased. However, in 46 regions there is an increase in infections and in one region the situation remains the same.
The current epicenter of the pandemic is Moscow, where 18,541 new cases were reported in the last day, and 22,079 in Saint Petersburg.
Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, indicated that the capital has already passed the worst part of the new wave of Covid-19, and that in the last week a 6% decrease in new infections has been seen. So it is forecast that this week the fall will be much greater.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 338,091 deaths from coronavirus and 13,527,845 cases of contagion. In the last 24 hours, 722 people have died.
Currently, the omicron variant is in 84 regions of the country, making a total of 85.70% of new cases are of the new variant, making it the dominant variant.
Until now, there is no possibility of taking extreme measures, as was done at the beginning of the pandemic. At that time, economic activity stopped and confinement was required.
