The COVID-19 vaccines that the United States will accept to receive foreigners as of 8-11-2021
There have been many rumors of the vaccines that the United States will accept so that travelers can enter its territory. This is how this Friday the White House has confirmed that travelers who are fully vaccinated will be able to enter their country from anywhere in the world, a measure that will be taken from November 8.
A new measure that has allowed tourism in that country to celebrate the decision, which had already been advanced on September 20 and has now been confirmed from Washington.
As of November 8, citizens of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil, China, South Africa and other countries will be able to travel to the United States again after having been unable to do so for more than a year.
For many, it has taken too long to lift this restriction, which had generated great controversy among people, since people from more than 150 countries could continue to enter the United States without problem, many of them from countries with very high infections.
Measures that seek to improve the health of American citizens
It is a policy that is guided by public health in a very consistent and rigorous way, as has been pointed out by one of the spokespersons for the White House when announcing the new anticovid measures.
In this way, foreign passengers who want to enter North American soil must be fully vaccinated, that is, they must have received all the doses and in addition, they will have to present a negative COVID-19 test that has been taken 72 hours before the trip.
All passengers who comply with this rule will be able to enter the country.
This new regulation will be extended from November 8 to all foreigners, even including people residing in countries that were allowed to make direct trips, such as those in Latin America except Brazil.
While for US citizens this measure will not be mandatory, so they can access even without having been vaccinated, the only thing they will be asked for is the negative test with less than 72 hours, if it is positive, they will have to quarantine in the shelters installed for it.
However, this quarantine will not be mandatory for any traveler.
Regarding land access, the United States Government has announced the lifting of restrictions on passage through the borders of Mexico and Canada, as it was announced last Tuesday. To be able to transit through this border it is necessary that travelers are also fully vaccinated.
What are the approved vaccines
To access North American soil it will be necessary for the person to be fully vaccinated, that is, they must have at least two weeks after receiving the second dose or the first if it is a single vaccine, this will be confirmed by the Centers for Control and Disease Prevention.
The vaccines that are certified and approved for acceptance in the United States are as follows:
Pfizer-BioNTech : Fully approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Moderna and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) : Which was approved by the FDA for emergency use.
AstraZeneca-Covishield, Sinovac and Sinopharm : These vaccines have been approved by WHO, World Health Organization for emergency use.
Despite there being several vaccines that the United States will be accepting for entry into their country, millions of people have received vaccines that do not have the approval of this country for entry or that of the WHO, such as the vaccine Russian Sputnik or Chinese Cansino.
In most Latin American countries such as Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Panama, the Russian and Chinese vaccine have been applied to millions of people, the Chinese one has even been placed in Mexico.
For now, it is not entirely clear if a COVID-19 test can replace this type of vaccine or what measure the United States Government will try to implement for people who have received the Russian or Chinese vaccine. All this has caused much uncertainty in the citizens of Latin America.
According to the various rumors about entering the United States, in Argentina the flights for October with the Buenos Aires — Miami route were fully reserved, this given the concern of the Argentines that they would not be able to enter the gringo country as of November.
In Argentina about 22% of the population was vaccinated with Cansino or Sputnik. So many Argentine citizens still do not know what will happen to them and how they will be able to re-enter US soil.
