The world against the Bolsonaro government: Everyone blames everyone, while the Amazon burns
The international press, public figures and governments have made a series of accusations against the inability of the Bolsonaro government to pay for the Amazon fire. The global trend label has been #PrayforAmazon, which invites the authorities to take actions to put out the fires that have so far consumed 700 thousand hectares of jungle.
Bolsonaro assured that the NGOs were the culprits of these fires, since the budget that the government contributes to these organizations was reduced. However, the UN that meets this weekend assured that "In the midst of the global climate crisis, we cannot afford more damage to a great source of oxygen and biodiversity. The Amazon must be protected".
For his part, Bolsonaro responded to the various criticisms of his own style "Do you want me to blame the indigenous people? You want me to blame the Martians? Everyone is a suspect, but the main suspects are NGOs. It is a very strong indication that those organizations have lost their benefits. It is simple".
Of course, Brazilian organizations and a hundred international organizations began a political and social siege against Bolsonaro as a result of his statements. They assured that since he assumed the mandate, the main concern was the environmental stability of Brazil and that these fires are a sample of what was noticed once he assumed his mandate.
The organizations seek that the international community sanction Brazil for environmental irresponsibility and the money for which it is sanctioned has international control and allows the recovery of these hectares of forest that are lost.
Brazil has increased fires by 84% compared to the previous year, for a total of approximately 74,000 fires. The protests will begin this weekend in the big cities in order to force the government to act to mitigate this environmental crisis and find a way to recover what was lost.
While this is happening, and you are reading the note, it is estimated that another hectare of forest has just been burned by the fires that until now are believed to have started.
