The 1: 36-minute video initially shows a group of sharks feeding on the carcass of a fish located at the bottom of the sea. After the first minute of the video has elapsed, the presence of a giant mere begins to become evident, who, seconds later, ends up devouring, in a single bite, one of the sharks in the area.

The event was seen off the coast of South Carolina, when NOAA was taking pictures of a World War II shipwreck. All the images were captured by the cameras positioned at the scene.

Peter Auster, members of NOAA, pointed out that perhaps the sharks were exhausted due to such a long journey to find food. In this way, while they were downed and feeding on the corpse of the swordfish, the grouper took advantage of the situation to eat one of these sharks:

Surely the sharks traveled a long way to feed on that swordfish

On the other hand, Auster also pointed out the ability of giant predatory fish to be able to feed on smaller prey without causing any difficulty:

The grouper, using the remote-controlled vehicle for cover, demonstrated the ability of large predatory fish to feed on smaller sharks

The whole event turned out to be quite intriguing, since this type of fish usually feeds on crustaceans. Even so, these images captured worldwide attention, the video going viral where the giant mere devours the shark.
