Would Neymar withdraw the lawsuit against Barcelona if they sign him again?
A new football novel has been born as a result of the supposed negotiation between Neymar's lawyers and FC Barcelona. The player sued his former team for not receiving the money they promised him for his renewal in 2016, but now he could withdraw the lawsuit if they give in to his claims.
Neymar and the contract to withdraw the lawsuit
Neymar Jr. sued Barcelona because they only paid him 14 of the 40 million euros that they promised him if he renewed with the club. However, Barcelona assures that this pact was successful if Neymar Jr. stayed with the team until 2021, something that he did not fulfill when he agreed to be bought by PSG.
Last Friday, the lawyers of both parties tried to reach an agreement to avoid going to trial, but the negotiations did not go ahead, and now it will have to be a court that decides the future and of the reason somewhere.
However, Neymar Jr. sent a message to his former team, proposing that he withdraw the lawsuit provided that FC Barcelona agrees to sign him in the following season.
If this information is true, Neymar Jr. would be betraying the trust of PSG, since this information would only be delivered at his own request and with his lawyers. Neymar Jr. wants the signing to be in writing.
FC Barcelona sued Neymar Jr. for damages caused by not fulfilling the agreement to remain in the team until 2021.
