The time chosen for the preview could not be more auspicious: shortly before the match between Chile and Argentina for the third and fourth place dispute in the Copa América 2019, Channel 13 screened the first chapter of “Amor à la Catalán”, his new primetime soap opera.

That chapter was broadcast three times over the weekend, in an unprecedented strategy that, according to statements by Matías Ovalle, executive producer of the fiction, was something highly studied.

The producer added: “We spent a couple of weeks chewing on the strategy. Evaluating it, seeing the different scenarios, the possibilities, until we came to the conclusion that what we needed most was to have scope: that the largest and most varied audience possible had access to the first chapter, and that they fell in love with our story to join us in chapter two, in chapter three, in chapter four, and so on.”

“Amor à la Catalán” successful debut of the new Chilean TV series

The new Chilean television series scored an average of 13.1 units between 5:00 p.m. and 6:05 p.m., and a peak of 27 points on that first occasion. Channel 13 once again announced the pre-premiere of the television series on Sunday afternoon, before the soccer match between Brazil and Peru for the 2019 Copa América final.

Thus, the first episode was shown again between 6:32 p.m. and 7:35 p.m., again with good ratings: an average of 14.6 units and a peak of 17 points.

Finally, the same episode was broadcast again in prime time on Monday the 8th, but the result was less favorable. In its “official” premiere, Amor à la Catalán averaged 9.3 points between 9:59 p.m. and 11:08 p.m., ranking third in local ratings.

Channel 13 has announced that every day, at 3:15 p.m., the episode of the previous night would be repeated, since the series will be shown regularly from Monday to Thursday after Tele 13.

During the morning of Monday the 8th, the morning Welcome reviewed the best scenes starring the actors Tamara Acosta, Catalina Guerra, Cristian Capos, Matías Assler and Daniela Ramírez, who lead the cast.
