Eduardo Gómez dies at 68, "he fought cancer like a gladiator" says his son
Relatives and close associates of the actor confirmed that after a tough fight against cancer, Eduardo Gómez passed away, leaving a trail of great performances, memories and smiles on coworkers and the entire public who enjoy his characters, traditionally inclined to rogue men or fun.
Defined by many colleagues as a hummingbird, he always highlighted in his personality off-stage his neatness, a taste for good dress and definitely a great taste for beautiful women, as he mentioned more than once.
A great fighter
His son has said that Eduardo Gómez fought cancer like a gladiator, but really Edu's life, as he was affectionately called, is a great example of struggle. Many of the things that were kept for years we learned about recently. In a 2017 interview, he recounted how his first partner left him when his son was just days old. This was tough, but he kept going, getting his family afloat and succeeding in his career.
Eduardo Gómez also said that he sometimes had intense and continuous working days, in "La que se avecina" he remembers that they worked practically two weeks in a row to get good material on the air and keep up to date.
It was precisely fatigue that kept the great actor away from the media and from such a demanding job. He never regretted taking some time to rest after a life of hard work.
"Goodbye, Eduardo Gómez. I keep a precious memory of you and this great sequence of 'Here there is no one who lives'. Thank you!" Nacho Guerrero, one of the many artists who fired Eduardo Gómez, expressed on his Instagram.
