Johnny Depp offers his testimony during the trial against Amber Heard
Hollywood actor ' Johnny Depp' has become the center of media attention since the last few weeks. Since, after the controversial trial against his wife ' Amber Heard', the Pirates of the Caribbean actor decided to break the silence and testify his version of events regarding their marriage.
The trial of the most famous ex-partner of the moment, reached a new stage, after a defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp against the protagonist of 'Aquaman'.
The conflicts between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard began in early 2016, after the first allegations of verbal and physical abuse made by Heard. Then, both decided to carry out a legal divorce and a trial where Johnny Depp has denied all the accusations about the facts presented by his ex-wife and has legally counterattacked.
Johny Depp and Amber Heard appear in a defamation lawsuit of 100 million dollars
The new lawsuit stemmed from an article the actress wrote in 2018, the title read, “I spoke out against sexual violence and faced the wrath of our culture. That has to change”, published in The Washington Post.
During her public statement, she spoke about what she suffered in front of the mass media when they "made her the representative figure of domestic abuse."
Amber Heard affirmed that during that stage of her life she was on the blacklist of great films and even a film in which she would participate gave the role to another actress. Her ex-husband's name was not in any section of the article. However, Johnny Depp sued her, since he ruled that she was clearly talking about him.
The 'Scissorhands Man' actor said the article is a clear example of Amber Heard's victimization after she publicly accused her ex-husband of domestic abuse in 2016.
In the lawsuit, Johnny Depp claims the accusations cost him huge financial losses and his removal from the 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise.
In 2019, Mrs. Heard tried to deny the lawsuit and failed to achieve her goal, and for this reason, the famous actress filed a counterclaim of more than 100 million dollars that is in process.
Johnny Depp: "I never got to the point of hitting Amber Heard"
Last Tuesday, April 19, Johnny Depp took the stand to offer his testimony in the lawsuit, stating that his goal is to "get to the truth."
During his testimony, the actor stated that on several occasions he had strong arguments with Mrs. Heard, but that he never dared to lay a hand on her.
"I never got to the point of hitting Mrs. Heard in any way, nor have I ever hit any woman in my life," Johnny Depp said on the stand.
So far the lawsuit is still ongoing and social networks have collapsed with the information about the controversy between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Currently, the trial is in its fifth stage and no completion date has been decreed so far.
