Marc Jacobs to be crowned Fashion Trailblazer at the MTV Video Music Awards
Marc Jacobs continues to add recognition to his career as a professional in fashion. He is an international authority figure and MTV wants to honor him as a pioneer of fashion.
American designer Marc Jacobs has been named by MTV and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as the winner of the first Trailblazer Fashion Award at the 2019 Video Music Awards (VMA) on August 26.
MTV relates the trajectory of Jacobs, for always using music during his fashion collections and presentations.
From catwalks with Lady Gaga or a marching band playing Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit to the front rows with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj and ad campaigns with Missy Elliott and Cher, Jacobs often seizes the cultural moment through the lens of music, stated the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
The last great success of Marc Jacobs was in November 2018, when his Redux Grunge Collection 1993/2018 selected the best of his career since the spring of 1993. At that time, he was considered a designer without a future and with many questioned ideas of the time, but thanks to the rain of negative comments, he catapulted himself among the designers and was little by little recognized for his work.
