Atlético de Madrid scores a point against Villarreal
T his Sunday Villarreal received the team led by Diego Simeone at the Estadio de la Cerámica, achieving a 2-2 draw for matchday 20 of the Santander League.
From the beginning, the game was quite disputed and in a wrong pass in the center of the field, the Argentine Correa stole the ball and when he saw the goalkeeper of the premises ahead, he prepared to hit him from there, the ball ended up entering and becoming a goal of the best of the day, this only at minute 10 of the game.
The colchoneros kept attacking and so much so that Correa scored again, but was annulled for offside.
The yellow submarine reacted and in a play inside the area, Alberto Moreno shoots, but Lemar deflects it with his arm. The referee signaled a penalty.
Likewise, Gerard charged from eleven meters and goalkeeper Oblak stopped him, but on the rebound, in a close ball, Dani Parejo finished off with his hip and momentarily tied the game, but the referee Arberola Roja checked in the VAR and annulled the goal.
Villarreal kept trying and at minute 28, Parejo takes a dangerous foul that Oblak rejects, and the rebound is at the feet of Pau Torres who only pushes the ball, and it goes to the bottom of the nets, 1-1 partial. The following minutes dominated the premises, but the teams went to rest with that score.
Already in the second half, with a quick attack in minute 58, Gerard Moreno filters a ball through the center that Alberto Moreno reaches, getting rid of the mark of the centrals and remaining hand in hand with the goalkeeper, the shot clears it half Oblak and still ends inside, 2-1 in favor of Villarreal.
At minute 62, Simeone decided to make some moves, changing the 4-4-2 for a 3-5-3, when he took out De Paul, Cunha and Lodi for João Félix, Vrsaljko and Koke to enter. The strategy would generate instant results, since in the 67th minute, Kondogbia would definitively tie the game.
After a powerful shot by Correa that Rulli stopped, the ball fell to the midfielder, who finished off from the edge of the area and this time, with some complicity, the local goalkeeper failed to stop.

Atleti did not have enough time and after Kondogbia was sent off for his second yellow, hopes were dashed and in the end he almost ended up losing after a slightly high shot from Gerard Moreno in the addition.
