Barcelona and Real Madrid win at home on matchday 23 of LaLiga
This Sunday there were several matches corresponding to matchday 23 of LaLiga, where Barcelona's victory at the Camp Nou over Atlético de Madrid stands out and also at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid beat Granada by a minimum.
It should be noted that the first game of the day was between Valencia and Real Sociedad at the Mestalla, whose final score was a goalless draw. There was a great performance by both goalkeepers, especially the visiting team who took two clear heads-up to Maxi Gómez and Bryan Gil.
Distribution of points in the Mestalla that served as a prelude to the duel at the Camp Nou. There were novelties in the starting eleven that Xavi brought out against Valencia. Adama Traoré and Ferrán Torrés, who joined the winter market, played from the beginning.
However, for the 'azulgranas' the situation would be complicated by Carrasco's goal in the 8th minute, after a counterattack and a pass from Koke to the penalty spot, which the Belgian finished off low and into the back of the net.
The locals would not be intimidated by the advantage of the 'Cholo', but would quickly react with a great goal by Jordi Alba, after a center by Dani Alves, which the Spaniard would finish with his left foot, putting it in the right corner of the defended goal by Oblak, at minute 10.
At 21', Barça would complete the comeback thanks to an overflow by Traoré from the right to the baseline and there he took a cross that Gavi would head into the Atleti goal, impossible for Oblak and thus convert the partial 2-1.
One more goal would be missing in the first half and it would come through Ronald Araujo at 43', after a foul charged by Dani Alves and Piqué headed it, sending it to the crossbar, the rebound was finished off by the Uruguayan to make it 3-1 and so being able to go into the break with a wide lead.
In the second half the situation did not change, the second half had just begun, at 49' a team play on the left of Atleti's area and then a pass into the area was made that even two forwards let pass and Dani Alves left, who takes a right that is embedded at the bottom of the mattress goal. Great goal! And so he made it 4-1.
Luis Suárez, would cut distances for the visitors, when at 58 ', after a corner, Giménez headed and then the ex-Barcelona ended up deflecting it with a header so that Ter Stegen could not stop it. 4-2 definitive.
Real Madrid takes advantage of the punctures and escapes in the lead
The group led by the Italian Carlo Ancelotti won an important victory this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu against a Granada that was not daunted and on several occasions was able to get ahead on the scoreboard.
Real Madrid was hampered by the absences of Benzema (recovering from his injury and it is expected that he can reach the match against PSG ), Casemiro and Lucas Vásquez due to gastroenteritis, as well as the Brazilian Vinicius who is suspended due to the accumulation of five yellow cards so far in the championship.
The match, as usual, had a wide dominance of the whites with recurrent arrivals of Rodrygo and Asensio, in addition, Isco as a false '9' as in the Copa del Rey match against Athletic, but Madrid lacked depth in the face to the rival goal, something that Granada knew how to take advantage of through Luis Suárez on some occasions.
Every time Marcelo went up and lost the ball, the visitors on the counterattack took advantage of that sector to attack the area defended by Courtois, but the Belgian did not let his goal be beaten.
However, the 'merengues' kept trying with some arrivals from Rodrygo, Asensio, Carvajal and Kross that the goalkeeper Maximiano managed to stop them. This would end the first half with a goalless tied score.
In the second half the locals would continue the siege of the rival area and had more clear chances that the goalkeeper kept neutralizing, until Ancelotti decided to move the bench and Valverde came on and later Hazard and Jovic came on to have more presence up front.
But the 74th minute would come, after a corner that Modric takes short and after several passes, they send a center into the area that is rejected and Militao quickly recovers so that it falls to Asensio and he finishes off with a left foot from outside the area to the left bracket the Arch of Maximian. Thus converts the only goal of the game. Final 1-0.
For its part, Villarreal visited Benito Villamarín to face Manuel Pellegrini's Betis, who had just thrashed in the Copa del Rey, however, this time they would lose at home with a final score of 0-2.
The first goal was at minute 41 after a corner headed by Pau Torrés sending it into the back of the net.
The last goal would be in the second half and the person in charge was Capoué at minute 83, after a pass from the left of the area, which the forward of the 'yellow submarine' receives and serves it so that Capoué takes a strong shot that would place it in the right square. Final 0-2.
