Betis consolidates itself in third place in the standings

Espanyol received Betis this Friday at the RCDE Stadium, for matchday 22 of LaLiga, and lost by a landslide, 1-4 was the final score.

The 'parrots' struck first with a goal from Raúl de Tomas in the 14th minute. The play came from a center from the right that Óscar Gil made and Raúl hit him with his left foot, scoring the partial 1-0.

The rest of the game was a feast for the Verdiblancos. The 'panda' Borja Iglesias equalized with a penalty at 31'. The maximum penalty was caused by a play by Canales who, while on the ground, touched a ball that would hit Aleix Vidal's arm.

The referee reviewed the VAR and awarded the penalty in favor of Betis. Iglesias sent her to the squad, impossible for Diego López.

Five minutes later, Guido Rodríguez turned the game around, heading a ball that came from a corner that Fekir charged. 1-2 partial and thus they would go to rest.

The "panda" scored the third at minute 53, after a recovery due to the pressure at the exit of the premises, and once again Canales would make a luxury assist by passing him with his heel and when Iglesias received, he would hit him hard. Nothing to do for the Espanyol goalkeeper.

The fourth and last goal for the visitors would be scored by William José at 76', who in his first play would send it into the net in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

The Betis are consolidated in third position in the table with 40 points, ahead of teams like Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Barcelona. Betis is one of the best teams this season in Spain and, without a doubt, thanks to the work of Chilean Manuel Pellegrini.

Espanyol is in 11th place with 27 units. Next week there will be no LaLiga day because it is a FIFA date, that is, the matches for the Qatar World Cup qualifiers will be played.
