Robert Lewandowski: "The Best"
Best soccer player last season
This Monday the "The Best" award ceremony was held, an award given to the best soccer player of last season, this time it was awarded to the Pole Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich player.
The player of the Bavarian team won the award beating other stars such as Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah, and it should be noted that Alexia Putellas, a Barcelona player, won in the women's category.
The Polish striker raised his second consecutive award, since in his personal account he scored 69 goals and 11 assists in 59 games in 2021 with Bayern.
Cristiano Ronaldo received special recognition, despite not receiving "The Best", but he was able to lift the trophy for being the footballer with the most goals in the national team, 115 in total.
Among other awards, the forward of the Canadian team, Christine Sinclair, stands out, and thanks to the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, she obtained the first distinction in these awards.
The Fair Play award was obtained by Denmark and its medical staff, noted for saving the life of the player Christian Eriksen in the last European Championship, since the footballer had a heart attack in the middle of the match.
A different voting process
For this new edition of "The Best" the voting process to obtain the winners of the contest was carried out with four different groups. The fans voted from the official page of The Best.
The group of captains of the teams registered in FIFA. Also, that of the coaches and finally, that of the journalists from all over the world.
Another of the prizes that were awarded was that of Thomas Tuchel, prize for the men's soccer coach; Emma Hayes, Women's Soccer Coach Award; Christiane Endler as goalkeeper of the year; Edouard Mendy, goalkeeper of the year and Erik Lamela was the winner of the Puskas Award, which is given to the best goal of the season.
