The presidents issued a statement urgently requesting that the 5G network be removed at least 2 miles from the runways, as was stipulated at the time by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). The statement is also signed by the board of shipping companies such as FedEx and UPS.

They ensure that it is necessary for them to intervene immediately to avoid inoperability for passengers, the internal transport system, the supply system and essential medical equipment.

The letter was issued just two days after the entry of the 5G network service.

The main concern of airlines and shipping companies is that the 5G network may cause disturbances in the aircraft control system.

Companies such as American Airlines, Delta or Southwest stated that the day the 5G service was introduced there were more than a thousand delays due to technical failures.

They have demanded the United States government, the FAA and the telecommunications agency, to adopt the necessary measures to avoid further calamities.

Despite the short time, the towers have already caused chaos, because they are too close to the slopes.

The companies' directives consider it imperative to suspend the service until it is possible to determine how the deployment of this service can be carried out safely in order to avoid accidents.

At the beginning of the year, it had been given until the 19th for aviation companies to activate the 5G band service.

Due to concerns about possible interference problems with aircraft height estimation systems, the FAA issued new regulations that restrict the use of these flight components in certain situations.

In the United States, the airlines protested the costs that this decision would entail and demanded a quick solution from the authorities.

In a letter to the US Department of Transportation sent in December, the aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing expressed concern about the implementation of the 5G network and its possible disruptions.
