Recently, Google presented to the world its new Pixel 6, which includes a great novelty with respect to previous models and that is that it includes the company's new processor, the Google Tensor. Today, we will tell you all about this processor.

The Google Tensor chip is already among us, this is a microprocessor developed by Google for its devices. And its first appearance has been in the Google Pixel 6, the new flagship of the company of the great G.

Much expectation has been created around this new processor, and it is that like Apple, Google wants to maintain greater control over the hardware in its devices. So the best way to do this is by developing your own hardware.

Recall that Google used to use Qualcomm processors for their mobiles. However, the question is... Will the Google Tensor chip be superior to Qualcomm's Snapdragon?

Are they really made by Google?

The Google Tensor chips are the long-awaited processors from Google, however, these are not manufactured by Google. These new processors were developed by Google engineers, however they are manufactured by Samsung.

So even though they are not made by Google, we can hope that they can be of the highest possible quality.

What are the technical characteristics of this processor?

This new Google processor has a 2 x 2 x 4 configuration that promises that this processor will give you the maximum possible performance. This configuration is distributed as follows:

  • 2 ARM Cortex-X1 cores with a frequency of 2.80 Ghz.

  • 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of 2.25 Ghz.

  • 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.80 Ghz.

All this to create an octacore processor that is extremely powerful and that plans to become one of the reference microprocessors in the world.

A processor designed for artificial intelligence

Despite what many think, this processor was not made to stand out in power, since Google designed it with artificial intelligence in mind. This means that the processor will be capable of deep learning.

This is something that is in line with the policies of Google who has been betting on artificial intelligence for several years.
