Actor ' Lee Jung Jae ' known for his role in the Netflix series 'The Squid Game' has been in the spotlight of the media.

A couple of days ago, it was announced that ' Lee Jung Jae ' is making his film directorial debut at the Cannes festival. The South Korean spent years developing a thriller that was never published.

However, he decided to innovate with a new format and direct it for a select audience at Cannes to make his comeback on the big screen.

The followers of the Netflix series have demonstrated on Jung-jae's social networks to resolve the questions of his new film and celebrate his new milestone.

Currently, ' Lee Jung Jae ' is among the top 10 most famous South Korean actors in the entertainment industry.

The new title directed by 'Lee' is called 'Hunt', and it is a story that has been in development for more than 5 years. Therefore, he decided that it was a good opportunity to become a showrunner.

New thriller 'Hunt' to be directed by Lee Jung-Jae

The actor of 'The Squid Game' made a statement through his official Twitter and Instagram account, where he offered relevant details about his new film project. ' Lee Jung Jae ' stated that he was making new tweaks to the project and was excited to pick up 'Hunt' at the Cannes festival.

In addition, the Netflix screenwriter revealed the change he had to make to his production during his interview at the 2022 Cannes Festival. 'Lee' revealed the journeys he has gone through to recreate the new version of 'Hunt'.

“As an actor I have always been a fan of spy movies and I had the opportunity to buy the original script for this movie, which I thought had a lot of potential.”

“Before I decided to direct, I just thought I wanted to make a really fun movie. After getting down to business and starting to write the script, I actually wanted to come to the festival. And since I wanted to come to Cannes, I had to find a theme that would resonate with global audiences,” said ' Lee Jung Jae '.

About the thriller 'Hunt'

The new film 'Hunt' is a South Korean production that recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, drawing the attention of 500,000 people live.

In this film ' Lee Jung Jae ' debuts as director and official producer of the installment. The cast of the film stars 'Heo Sung-Tae', 'Lee Jung Jae' and 'Woo-Sung Jung'.

'Hunt' is a thriller that is set in the year 1980 in South Korea, the plot follows 2 special agents who have a common goal. Both colleagues will have to find an infiltrator among their ranks when they find out that they are attempting on the life of the South Korean president.

The agents will have to escort the president to a meeting in Washington DC, while they find a way to identify the infiltrated 'mole'. Throughout the trip scenes of persecution, suspicions and explosions will be revealed that will give a 360° turn to the plot.

Lee Jung-Jae will not be directing any new projects anytime soon.

The actor and screenwriter from South Korea stated that he has no plans to work as a director again anytime soon. ' Lee Jung Jae ' is focused on continuing his acting career and finishing the filming of the second season of 'The Squid Game' on Netflix.

“I identify myself as an actor. I really like acting and I want to focus more on that, although if there is an opportunity to direct again, I could take advantage of it”, concluded the actor during his interview at the Cannes Film Festival.
