And above all odds... "Grey's Anatomy" will have a 19th season
Popular medical drama will continue to amaze audiences with season 19

Grey's Anatomy is one of those iconic shows at the Law & Order level: SVU. Before all odds, the series has renewed its license announcing a 19th season.

As soon as season 18 has concluded, the producers of the acclaimed series have already engaged the public. For another year in a row, there will be more content from Grey's Anatomy.

Shonda Rhimes, creator of the show, finishes confirming the premise

Shonda Rhimes is the mind behind what is ranked as the best medical drama series. Thanks to the innovation and stories told throughout his career, he was able to keep the public interested.

At the expense of the latest data collected where the series had lost ratings, the announcement for season 19 was produced.

Indeed, as time passed, a large percentage of viewers who were adept at medical fiction abandoned ship.

However, in the general count, it was not a sufficient setback to disturb the continuity of the plot. In fact, it ranks No. 2 in viewing on ABC only behind The Good Doctor, starring Freddie Highmore.

Those same audience levels encouraged the producers and Krista Vernoff, who was in charge of directing the filming.

As a result, an agreement with ABC Signature was prioritized for the renewal of the license. Without much ado, the deal was closed immediately.

"The new season will feature an overview of returning and newly added characters. It will explore an ever-expanding world of modern medicine in contrast to the regular story of the series." — Concluded Vernoff, "showrunner" of Grey's Anatomy.

Ellen Pompeo's controversial statements about the announcement

The famous 52-year-old actress, Ellen Pompeo, has recently spoken out about the announcement of season 19.

A demonstration that openly contrasts with the position of the major producers of the series in which it stars.

Ellen Pompeo aka Meredith Gray over the years

Pompeo has been in charge of playing Meredith Gray since 2005, participating in more than 350 episodes.

His participation is one of the longest remembered in a drama series. Therefore, he has considered that an imminent culmination of Grey's Anatomy is necessary.

"For a long time I have been trying to convince everyone that the series should end. It is reaching the end of its natural course; it is the ideal time." — Clarified Pompeo.

Paradoxically, the American actress is in the top 3 of the most paid actresses in the world. Despite his tirade with the continuity of the show, he continues to renew as the series does.

"I've always thought I'm naive because I'm like... What story is going to be told now? And people say, what does it matter, Ellen. We're still raising a million dollars."

And, as already stressed, the ABC chain supports a large part of its earnings for Grey's Anatomy. Regardless of the significant defection of fans in recent times, the international collection continues to leave excellent returns to its coffers.

Season 18 Part 2 is about to resume

Despite the disparity between the main star of the cast and the producers, the series continues its course.

On February 24, its resumption is scheduled within the framework of season 18. The current story will continue to offer its traditional medical fiction.

Season 18 represents a big profit for the ABC network

After problems with production and post-production associated with the pandemic, the follow-up has been delayed. It is no secret to anyone that the omicron variant plus the rebound in infections is once compromising public health.

At the same time, Krista Vernoff was grateful not only for the current season, but for the next one. He concluded by arguing that the show has made a real impact on the way the medical field is viewed.

"I thank all of our partners at Disney and ABC for making this possible. For allowing us to continue to tell the bold stories of our characters with real impact." — Said Vernoff.
