Disney + will offer cheaper subscriptions
By 2024, the company hopes to reach 260 million subscribers.
The Disney + streaming platform is one of the most famous at the moment. Now it will have a new benefit, for those people who want to enjoy the premieres that they offer.
In this new opportunity, an account can be purchased at a much lower cost than usual, with the condition that at the time the movie or series is being broadcast, all the ads that appear will have to be accepted.
Disney+'s goal with this new option is to reach between 230 - 260 million subscribers in 2024.
Although this will displease many, it will be a new opportunity for the platform to get more users, who can be distracted by the content.
This new option will be available from the end of 2022 in the United States. The rest of the countries will be able to enjoy it in 2023.
Other platforms such as HBO Max, Paramount +, Discovery + and Hulu (mostly owned by Disney), already have this option available to users, but in the United States nothing more. Hulu has a subscription of 6.99, with ads, half of the real value.
The president of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, Kareem Daniel, indicates that the change of introducing ads on the platform is a benefit for everyone.
He ensures that with the new cost, more people will access the content, advertisers will reach a wide audience and storytellers will share the work with more families and more fans.
In just two years since its worldwide premiere, Disney+ is positioned with 130 million users, in the ranking of subscribers worldwide. It is only surpassed by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
