Although it will not return to the original cast, both series can be crossed in some chapters

Without a doubt, it was the perfect opportunity for Hargitay to unleash an open secret. Indeed, Olivia Benson always had a love interest for Elliot Stabler, but unfortunately it was not an idea deepened by the script.

"The energy is there, Olivia was always in love with Stabler. But it's not easy, she is hurt by the way it all ended. 10 years of absence is not easy to digest" — Hargitay commented.

Hargitay still calls for calm

Benson and Stabler formed one of the most iconic and powerful couples in the police genre. At a time when this kind of programs or series abounded, they knew how to manage to get ahead.

Highlighting again, the chemistry between both characters plus the acting ability of those involved, facilitated the process. In a short time, they constituted a good revenue for the NBC television network, calling millions of fans.

Spectators who, with each passing chapter, fuel the fire of theories about the romance between Benson and Stabler. Unfortunately, with Meloni's departure in 2011, everything seemed to fall apart, or so it seemed.

Meloni was called back to star opposite Hargitey in a new seasonal special. In it, details of the past are briefly explored and the death of Kathy Stabler, wife of the famous detective, takes place.

An event that Mariska considers key and as a turning point in the plot, calling for calm. That is to say, the probable or already confirmed romance will have to continue waiting a little longer.

"He is free, and I think he has eyes for me. But we are just finding our way back, little by little. We must give time for the grieving process with his wife, Kathy Stabler" — Hargitay sentenced for Drew Barrymore.
