  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

  • Half a teaspoon of salt.

  • 113 grams of unsalted butter.

  • One and a half cups of all-purpose wheat flour.

  • 2 eggs.

  • One and a half tablespoons of vanilla extract.

  • A liter of oil for frying.

  • One and a half cups of white sugar.

  • A tablespoon of cinnamon powder.

Steps for the preparation of churros

Preparation of the dough

  1. In a medium pot, add a cup and a half of water, followed by two tablespoons of brown sugar, a half tablespoon of salt, and a stick of butter.

  2. Turn on the stove fire to medium heat and start mixing the stove ingredients with the help of a paddle, until the butter melts.

  3. After the butter melts, wait for the ingredients to come to a boil. At this point, remove the pot from the heat and turn off the stove.

  4. Place the pot on your work table and add a cup and a half of flour, previously sifted into the pot with the rest of the ingredients.

  5. Mix the flour with the rest of the ingredients, with the help of a palette until it forms a homogeneous dough. Ideally, it should be a smooth dough without lumps.

  6. Put the pot back on the stove over low heat, while you keep moving the dough with the help of a paddle repeatedly, until the excess moisture dries. This may take one to two minutes.

  7. Place the dough in a large bowl and separate it, making a hole in the center to remove the heat. Let it rest until the dough is lukewarm.

  1. While the dough cools down a bit, beat a couple of eggs in a glass and add a tablespoon and a half of vanilla. Continue mixing until it is integrated.

  2. Once the dough is cold, add a third of the egg mixture, knead to integrate it and repeat the process until you finish adding the eggs, and they are integrated into the dough. Mix with the help of a palette to make the procedure easier.

  3. Ideally, the dough should be as shown in the image. That is, somewhat heavy, but smooth, without lumps and without moisture.

Preparation of churros

  1. Place the dough in the sleeve. You can use a piping bag with a star tip, but if you don't have a piping bag, later we will explain how to make a piping bag with a cut plastic bottle.

  2. Remember that every time you add dough to the bag, you must compact it towards the bottom. With the help of a spatula, press the sleeve so that the dough moves to the tip.

  3. To make a circular, or spiral, churro, brush a little butter on a plate, then place parchment paper on top. Make the circular churro shape on the plate, gently pressing the sleeve.

  4. On another plate with parchment paper, make the shapes you like by gently pressing the sleeve. They can be in the form of a line, or in the form of drops if you like.

  5. Put the churros in the refrigerator for a few minutes to cool down until you're ready to fry them.

Fry the churros

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat and pour in the oil to heat. This may take 5 to 10 minutes or until the oil reaches a temperature of between 170º C and 180º C.

  2. While the oil is heating, on a plate mix the sugar and cinnamon and reserve for after frying.

  3. Place the churros that you had left resting in the fridge, in the pan, but be careful not to stick them while frying.

  4. Another option is to simply shape the churros in the pan with hot oil and let them fry. The ideal is to make lines between 8 and 15 centimeters. Be careful not to burn the churros.

  5. Once the churros are golden brown, drain excess oil on a rack for at least 10 minutes.

  6. Return the oil to the pan and place the churros on a plate lined with absorbent paper.

  7. After ten minutes, coat them with the mixture of sugar and cinnamon and finally serve them.

  2. Wash the cap to remove any remaining ink or plastic from the cap.

  3. Open a hole in the middle of the bottle and cut it into two parts with the help of scissors.

  4. Place the cap on the cut bottle.

  5. Place the dough inside the bottle and with the help of the other half of the bottle that you had cut, put pressure on the bottle. Ideally, it should be as follows.
