What does 2022 hold for Marvel after the end of "Hawkeye"?
The UCM (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has experienced one of its most productive years, far exceeding expectations. With the closing of the season of the Hawkeye series, it ends a cycle of successes with a view to 2022.
There is no doubt that the next 365 days will also be full of emotions, where the maximum beneficiary will be the fanatic.
From WandaVision to "Hawkeye"
After the worldwide success of the launch and premiere of the most ambitious project in movie history, fan confidence waned.
In essence, Avengers: Endgame, marked a before and after that very few can match. The film broke all box office records, ranking as the highest grossing of all time.
For Marvel Studios it represented the pinnacle and conclusion of a 10-year plan. In addition, the questions arose... How could perfection be surpassed? How could it be possible to keep the fan hooked?
And it was there when phase 4 of the MCU began, announced by Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios. A new stage that gave way to the development of series such as WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If and Hawkeye.
In addition to this, great films such as Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals and the innovative Spider-man: No Way Home, completed the menu for 2021. The latter, along with Hawkeye, were the main productions of a closing of the year that he prepares a dream 2022.
The importance of Marvel series for the calendar in 2022
Although the first statistics were not favorable around the series, the final response from the fans was positive. Each of them contributed a significant element to what the future of the UCM will be in the coming year:
WandaVision
It served as a fundamental pillar to publicize the magnitude of the powers of Wanda Maximoff. In turn, it laid the foundations for the knowledge of the concept of the multiverse plus the introduction of the Darkhold.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier
The development of the series allowed us to explore the relationship between Sam Wilson and "Bucky" Barnes. Similarly, he exponentially influenced Falcon's transformation into the new Captain America.
Loki
The God of Lies again had its space on the screen, being considered the best of the Marvel series.
He focused on the growth and development of Loki in the company of Sylvie, his "variant" in another universe. At the same time, he unleashed the many possibilities and problems that can occur, unleashing the multiverse and invoking Kang: The Conqueror.
What if
It became the first animated series of the UCM, and it is also considered "canon" within the continuity of the project.
He told different stories with different results with The Watcher as the main protagonist, with Supreme Strange and Ultron also standing out.
Hawkeye
The season finale of Hawkeye (Hawkeye) brought with it several juicy surprises for the future of the MCU.
It is also one of the best Christmas series with action included to enjoy at this time. With the re-incorporation of “Kingpin”, the first look at Maya López (“Echo”) plus the brilliant participation of Kate Bishop, the future smiles on the franchise.
So what is the itinerary for next year?
Phase 4 is still on the rise so the maximum of it has not yet been seen. 2022 will follow up on the main projects shown in the current year, exploring other perspectives in depth.
In particular, next year will be structured as follows:
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Movie).
Thor: Love and Thunder (Movie).
Ms. Marvel (Series).
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Movie).
Holiday Special: The Guardians of the Galaxy (Special Production).
Moon Knight (Series).
She-Hulk (Series).
I am Groot (Animated series).
It is a complete calendar in which official dates have yet to be confirmed. However, each one of the mentioned productions will be available to fans in general. There is no doubt that the ambition of the MCU and its main orchestrator, Kevin Feige, remains intact even after reaching the peak of success.
