Donald Trump pointed out that the United States could end the war with Afghanistan in a matter of days, although eliminating all traces of said territory. Even so, he points out that this is not the goal of his nation, which is constantly concerned about the safety of the 10 million inhabitants of that country :

I could win that war in a week, but I don't want to kill 10 million people... Afghanistan could be wiped off the face of the earth. I don't want to go that way

Trump stressed that he will be seeking to end, once and for all, the conflicts in Afghanistan. In this way, he requested the collaboration of Pakistan to stop all kinds of fires in the region and seek a definitive solution between the two countries:

We've been there 19 years, it's ridiculous... There is no military solution in Afghanistan. If you leave everything to the military, then millions of people will continue to die... If you asked me to mediate or arbitrate, I would be extremely happy to do so.

Trump also asked Khan to pressure the Taliban to end all conflicts and give a permanent ceasefire in Afghanistan. All this in order to seek a peaceful and definitive solution in that country.

The tension between the United States and Pakistan had intensified after Imran Khan was elected as governor of the latter country. In this way, the prime minister criticized the US decision to stop all kinds of war conflicts had with Afghanistan.

On the other hand, Trump had pointed out that Pakistan had not done anything productive with the more than 1.3 billion dollars it receives, a year, from the United States. For this reason, the President of the United States decided to reduce said economic support given to the region until noticeable improvements can be seen in it.
