Joe Biden announced that he will put free high-quality masks

"Next week we're announcing how we're going to make high-quality masks available to the American people for free. I know we all want to get rid of masks once and for all. I get it, but they're a really important tool in stopping the spread", especially the highly transmissible omicron variant.
The president alleges that the use of a mask is a duty and responsibility of each person living in the United States, since wearing the mask in public places would reduce a percentage of infected people.

The United States government announced that it will increase the purchase of tests to detect COVID-19.
An additional 500 million tests will be purchased in addition to the 500 million free rapid tests, for a total of 1 billion tests.
