Seized coconuts filled with liquid cocaine

Exactly 19,780 export coconuts were full of liquid cocaine, they were found in a container in the port of Cartagena (Bolívar), Colombia, and their final destination was Europe, specifically for Genoa — Italy.

The coconut water was stolen and exchanged for liquid cocaine, this resulted in the investigation. The coconuts were transferred to a specialized laboratory where the exact amount of the narcotic could be observed.

The Attorney General's Office, through the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking, carried out the seizure, with the support of the Antinarcotics Directorate of the National Police.

Likewise, the Attorney General's Office indicated that the guarantee control judge certified the process in which the discovery occurred.

They continue to carry out investigations to determine the exact point where the loading of the approximately 20,000 coconuts took place and the discovery of those responsible.

María Elena Mosalve, specialized director against drug trafficking, explained that they are trying to have communication with the Italian authorities in order to have information on the drug traffickers in charge of receiving the cocaine.

Confiscated explosives

In a parallel operation, 200 kilograms of explosives type ANFO (from English: Ammonium Nitrate — Fuel Oil) and pentolite were seized in the east of Cali (Valle del Cauca).

This discovery was in a cleared area in the vicinity of the police station in the Alfonso López neighborhood, where the existence of storage was found in a pressed cardboard bin, from which two cables came out that were connected to an electronic device.

The technical agents of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) destroyed the explosives in a controlled manner.

It was determined that the ANFO and the pentolite were brought into the urban area of Cali on January 25, when they were hidden in a canoe on the Cauca River. It is presumed that he belonged to a criminal structure in the region.

Currently, investigations continue to discover if these explosives were going to be used in a terrorist action in the area.
