New York Mayor Eric Adams' First Salary Will Be in Crypto
This year the prominence of digital currencies is increasing, among artists, competitors and big names in the United States. In fact, many people are receiving their income in these types of currencies.
Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, assured that his first check that arrived on Friday, January 21, was subsequently changed to digital money through Coinbase Global Inc. The municipal president changed his salary to Ethereum and Bitcoin.

The mayor, elected before the end of last year, insisted he would accept his initial three rewards in bitcoin and signaled his goal of making his city the focal point of the digital currency industry.

Adams also further recommended that New York schools show seminars on digital money and blockchain technology.
In addition, it followed a comparative promise from Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who made a commitment to exchange his three starting salaries into bitcoin.
Eric made his initial compensation in crypto to show a good example of how New York City can engage individuals through innovation, with a more varied array of options for dealing with their finances.
While Adams has yet to make proposals that would make New York a focal point in the crypto world, digital currency enthusiasts say their support for bitcoin has been empowered, and they agree it could attract more new computing resource businesses to New York.
Last November, Ethereum and Bitcoin hit all-time highs. However, at that time these coins plunged into the new year. Bitcoin fell more than 5%, dipping below the $40,000 per coin level, since September.
