He studied at Ewha Womans University Teacher's College Experimental Elementary School and finished high school at Changchun Middle School.
Being a freshman in high school, Pledis Entertainment contacted him. Since then, he spent 4 years as an apprentice for the company, where his love for music grew exponentially.

Vernon was featured on Kids Explore Life in 2008.
By 2012, he was on JTBC's High Society. On the MBC channel, he appeared on Hello Stranger, a program that lasted from 2014 to 2015.

For the song Do Re Mi, Bumzu, Woozi, Seungkwan and Dino got together.
For his part, along with Bumzu and Wozzi, Vernon composed the lyrics for the songs Second Life, HIT, Fearless, Lucky, and Left & Right.
