TXT hits 12 weeks on Billboard 200
One of the greatest exponents of k-pop is the boyband TXT. Recently TXT reached 12 weeks on the Billboard 200 with just one album of the genre.
This is the first time it has happened, so in the following article we bring you the details of this record and about the featured album.
TXT band
The band Tomorrow X Together (TXT), is a boyband, made up of 4 members of South Korean nationality and 1 native member of Hawaii, United States.
The band debuted in March 2019 in South Korea and for Japan in 2020 during the month of January.
Beginning of the musical career
Produced by Big Hit Music and HYBE, they began launching announcements during 2018. This would represent the second group to be led by Big Hit Entertainment after BTS, 6 years earlier.
The members performed one after another starting with Yeon Jun, Son Bin, Huening Kai, Tae Hyun, and Beom Gyu on January 11, 14, 16, 18, and 20, 2019 respectively.
Mini album The Dream Chapter: STAR.
They debuted with a mini album called The Dream Chapter: STAR. After several promotional presentations for February of that year, the list of the songs of the mini album was released, which has five songs.
For the following month they began to release the details by listening to fragments of the songs. The songs that made up this first mini album are: Nap of a star, Blue Orangeade, Cat & Dog, CROWN and Our Summer.
First Album The Dream Chapter: MAGIC
That same year, thanks to the receptivity of the first songs, BHE informs that by October they would be releasing the first TXT album. The band featured the album on the Met show, where they starred in its title track.
Days later, a new production with very attractive visual effects of " Sanctuary ", his next project, was unveiled. After that, the long-awaited list of songs that make up this project was released.
Among the songs, stand out Can't We Just Leave the Monster Alive ?, New Rules, Roller Coaster, Run Away, Angel or Devil, 20cm, Poppin 'Star and Magic Island. The production of Run Away was accompanied by a very entertaining and dynamic music video, in which the youthful aspect of the artists is especially highlighted.
Debut in Japan
For this debut the band decided to take three of their songs and create a single called Magic Hours, in which they would sing Run Away, Angel or Devil and CROWN. With the new theme in Japanese, the photos showed very beautiful landscapes of the region, in which its staging was accentuated.
They even used cartoons characteristic of the region. Finally, with the Run Away theme, the young people looked super handsome, with very tasteful suits that showed their youth.
Most recent works
By 2021, considering the time of recession that occurred due to the pandemic. The advances of the TXT arrived, which since the beginning of the year launched with everything, invading digital platforms.
However, one of the most outstanding works is the one that will be mentioned below.
Second Album The Chaos Chapter: FREZEE
This album came with a transformation of the band's logo. This album was released in three different versions: You, Boy and World
This album also brought a very interesting promotional video that accompanied it at the album's premiere on May 31st.
On June 15, 17 and 19, the previews of the versions with highly detailed images were released. There are eight songs that make up this project, including Anti-Romantic, I Know I Love You, Ice Cream, What if I had been that PUMA, No Rules, Dear Sputnik, Frost and Magic.
This album brings with it much more commitment and contribution from the members in whom Soo Bin wrote the song Ice Cream. As well as Tae Hyun, Huening Kai, Yeon Jun and Beom who together or individually gave life to this fabulous album.
Another point to note is that Magic is the band's first song in English. Perhaps for this reason it is one of the most outstanding works that the band has had.
Album Repackage The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE '
This album, although it has not achieved so much merit, has several songs from the album The Chaos Chapter: FREZEE and with a very special song entitled " LOSER = LOVER ".
This theme is the promotional song for this work. Since it came out on August 17 of this year, it has swept digital platforms.
Acknowledgments obtained
Well, last June the band TXT released their album The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE. This is the group's second album and so far everything indicates that it was a magnificent job.
And is that after its publication, the results were better than expected. Week after week the songs from the most recent project rank among the 200 most listened to albums.
This list is known as the Billboard 200 and it rates the most listened to songs in the United States on a weekly basis. This week, The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE is set to rank 78th.
Another position obtained within Billboard
For those who do not know, the Billboard has several categories that generate weekly, monthly and yearly statistics. These categories range from albums, bands, singles, among other categories.
In this sense, the band TXT with the project The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE, has also been the k-pop album with the longest time on the Billboard list of Top Albums Sales in week 14, occupying the number 7 place.
Also, it has been on the World Album chart, where it was at # 2 in its 15th week, while also ranking at # 7 on the Top Current Album Sales chart.
On the other hand, it occupies number 4 on the Tastemarker Albums list this week. Similarly, TXT's song " LOSER = LOVER " peaked at No. 10 for the fourth consecutive week on the World Digital Song Sales chart.
This week the band is ranked 46th on the Artist 100.
