The wait is over: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is official
The popular video game franchise will now have a new title appended fantastic legacy. According to Infinity Ward, developer of the game, work is underway on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
Yes, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be a remastered or repowered version of the one that emerged in 2009. In addition, it will be a direct sequel to the edition released in 2019.
What is known to date about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?
Last week, between April 28 and 29, Activision Blizzard was very active regarding Call of Duty. Indeed, both they and Infinity Ward were in charge of making official what this new terminal will be.
Broadly speaking, it will be the fifth game of the Modern Warfare edition. And, as already mentioned, it will be listed as the direct sequel to the version that was released in 2019.
It is clear that this new game comes in the midst of the controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard and the Call of Duty franchise. According to official data from the company, large user leaks have been experienced in the last 12 months.
Therefore, Modern Warfare 2 is called to be the one to return the interest to those who have left. However, few details are known regarding the game, so the uncertainty is still in force.
Among other premises, the delegate of the Call of Duty division, Phil Spencer, assured that the purchase of Activision by Microsoft will not change anything. In other words, the game will not be limited exclusively to the Xbox system.
Based on its own words and storylines, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (MWII), will shine on platforms other than Microsoft. Given this, it will be executable in Play Station as in other systems and consoles, without any problem.
When will Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 be officially released?
So far, it is only known that the game's release date will be at some point in 2022. Otherwise, the company and its main partners have not reported other aspects or details.
However, Activision also left a taste of what the game will be like with a video trailer on Twitter. In it, hints at old and beloved characters from the old Task Force 141 are observed. In essence, it was the operations unit that stood out the most in the 2009 MWII version.
Similarly, several insiders from the world of video games have commented that it will be a unique experience. They have even echoed what Activision itself has stated.
"It will be the most advanced experience in the history of the franchise and it will also have changes that will never be forgotten."
As an additive, the corporation also emphasizes that Warzone 2 is also yet to come. As such, it will be another title that will be based, from scratch, on a battle royale experience and gameplay. Therefore, and in short with MWII, Call of Duty hopes to recover lost ground with its users.
