The series 'New Amsterdam' will be canceled after the broadcast of season 5
The Doctors' Series New Amsterdam ' has managed to be among one of the best series on NBC. The fourth season did not get a final denouement and left unfinished events that have caused a lot of intrigue among viewers.
On March 15, the director of 'New Amsterdam' informed his followers, through a statement, that 'The end of the series is near'. The final story of the series will have its outcome at the end of season 5, since it was canceled by NBC.
Viewers expected the renewal of the story during new installments. But, the platform's decision is indisputable, since the new adaptation of the story has already marked its beginning.
This has been one of the most shocking news for all lovers of the fiction series, since the series still has a future ahead of it and it has been a very sudden decision on the part of the television network.
The story starring Ryan Eggold issued its most recent installment in mid-January 2022, although it was one of the most anticipated installments, it failed to raise the funds estimated by the producers. The next installment will be the shortest of the entire trajectory, since they do not want to spend a lot of time on it.
During an interview that 'La vanguerdia' did with screenwriter David Schulner, he asserted that:
“Despite the fact that the series reached its peak after the publication of its second season, it managed to double its views. The series is no longer on an upward trajectory and we don't want to drag out episodes indefinitely."

About the fifth season of 'New Amsterdam'
Season 5 of New Amsterdam will be composed of 13 episodes only, each one will last between 40 and 50 minutes approximately.
This season we will again see Dr. Max Goodwin, one of the most beloved characters in the award-winning story. In the previous season we saw how Max and Helen decided to carve out a new path in their lives and headed to the airport to board a flight to London.
However, while boarding the plane, he is overwhelmed by the large number of inconveniences and unforeseen events that arise and deserve Max's attention. Therefore, both will find themselves in the great dilemma of whether they are making the right decision to abandon their lives in the United States.
At the same time, Max meets a person from his past who will be of great help to him during his busy stay at the New York hospital.
Season 5 of the series will be available through the platforms of the NBC television network in mid-September 2022. However, it will be acquired by Netflix in the first week of December.
