If you are looking for how to make breaded fish, the main key to obtain it is to follow these steps, which will ensure a perfect crispy and golden brown with infallible chef tips.

1. Prepare the breading

The crispiness of your breaded fish will depend on this, but do not think that only breadcrumbs are enough for this, more is needed.

In a bowl, place the ground bread, along with the seasonings, such as pepper, cumin, garlic and salt, these flavors will be transferred to the meat of the fish with the heat.

In addition to this, add the cornstarch to the mixture, this helps the fish to be even more crispy, and does not burn quickly and unevenly.

Stir them well, and transfer them to a flat plate and from there reserve it.

2. Scramble the egg

The egg is the element that will help you preserve the natural juices of the fish, and at the same time help the ground ingredients to penetrate and remain in the piece.

To do this, you will need to beat an egg in a bowl, without anything else. It is common in other recipes to add salt and pepper to the egg, however, if it has already been placed in the breading, this is not recommended, as you would increase the salts, distorting the natural flavor.

3. Remove moisture from fish

This is one of the kitchen secrets that will help you to position the pieces in the oil, so that the breaded fish does not generate oil splashes.

When the oil jumps to the point of leaving the limits of the pan, it is because it has made contact with water, something that fish pieces naturally have.

That is why before breading them, you must remove excess moisture with paper towels. Place a towel on the plate, put the pieces, and another towel on them, exert a little pressure without friction until you see them dry.

4. Bread and fry

Now return the breaded mixture and the scrambled egg to the table along with the fish fillets. Take a piece, pass it through the ground mixture on both sides of the fillet, then dip them in the egg and bread again.

Repeat the process with each fillet, and reserve them on a plate, without sticking them together.

They are reserved for 10 minutes without covering, this allows the ingredients to compact more and the bread sucks out the moisture. In this way, when taking them to fry, the oil will not splash.

The oil must be at a medium temperature when we add the breaded fish pieces, that is, neither very hot nor cold, and you must cook it over medium heat.

This ensures that the pieces brown evenly, and also cook from the inside without burning, obtaining the perfect crispness you want.

There are no more excuses for not enjoying a breaded fish at home, you just have to complement it with white rice and a salad. So bon appetit!
