Who is the best character in The Big Bang Theory?
The series of brilliant nerds and their lives full of complications due to their inability to adapt to social life outside comic shops and conventions, came to an end a few months ago. Since its inception, The Big Bang Theory managed to captivate millions of people, a legion of followers led it to be one of the most viewed series in recent years.
Why was the series so successful? A question with a thousand answers but from the most basic, you have to understand that there are really many nerds who identified with their dream alter ego, always with little social contact but bright enough to become astronauts or win a Nobel Prize and in the case of Leonard, ending up with a super beautiful and sexy girl, all this applies as dreams of any nerd (and others not so nerd) but in general, the public also had extreme fun with their crazy situations.
The best character in The Big Bang Theory
Defining a better person among so many interesting and funny personalities is not an easy task, but let's review (as if we were the jury of a prestigious award), the merits that each character has to think about appearing as the best in the series:
Howard Wolowitz
He is one of the most successful characters in the series, in all respects. If we think of the golden dream as a nerd of ending up with a pretty girl, Penny, Leonard's partner is, but little Bernadette has her thing, although due to series issues and her profile, she wears it well hidden.
In terms of personality, Howard is something strange (like all the boys in the series), only that living with his mother in that strange dependent relationship at the same time that he is managing to become an astronaut, takes that of the "nerdy personality".
In his career, however, he is the one who constantly shows the most progress, he is always doing special work for NASA, the Defense Department and before the last season we already see him as an astronaut, let alone, he has merits, but not the best of the series.
Amy
Good Amy was introduced in the series as a figure for Sheldon, it may sound macho, but it is reality and applies only to her character. Someone thought of transforming Sheldon and this not only required a female character almost as brilliant as him, but also to play the role of "Jiminy Cricket", to claim him when he behaved too badly with his friends and for these things they placed Amy.
Beyond his funny (although at times disturbing) lesbian obsession with Penny, there is little to highlight about this character in the face of the best protagonist of the series. He is far from it although like all the protagonists, he enjoyed a juicy salary that is maintained even at the end of the series by broadcasting it.
Bernadette
She was the second girl to be added to the series, and although she ended up fitting in well, she never really got to take a leading place as Penny, her counterweight to Howard's mother in Howard's life (and a bit to Rajesh)., He gave us funny moments, but there is not much beyond that.
The nice girl introduced us to her family and constantly talked about the disturbing experiments and chemical elements or drugs that she handled or experimented with, a pleasant character, even necessary but not even close to being the best in the series.
Rajesh
A funny character although in the series he is constantly overshadowed. He is supposed to be a brilliant astronomer but outside his appearance in a magazine, we do not see a gigantic achievement like that of Sheldon or Howard for this character, undoubtedly positioned to include some minority as has become fashionable in all series and movies being the extreme "The Eternals" (premiere included for the IV phase of the Marvel Universe), where the diversity becomes so extreme that the intention to show it is evident.
In love, the good Rajesh has the odd partner, but they are always short relationships, we almost always see him (and so it ends) behind the shadow of his friends with a partner. His final profile is similar to that of Joey in Friends, the only one left single, but Joey does not feel sorry for it, until the end he is the prototype of a skilled male to conquer every female he crosses and Rajesh... is Rajesh.
Penny
The first of the girls included in the series, even fits into the basic story since nerds and pretty girls could always create funny situations because of the fear of approaching, it is what happens when Penny moves, Leonard wants to woo her (Howard too) and they all end up almost putting together the last piece of furniture in their apartment.
However, Penny moved to the center of the series, we learned her story, and although we are clearly shown a promiscuous behavior of the beautiful blonde well... it is American television, a beautiful blonde who was not would be rare in this type of series!
In the end, the beautiful girl won over the audience, managed to meet and interact with Sheldon in the way that none of his friends could and integrated into the story perfectly, making her eventual courtship with Leonard one of the funniest elements. Leonard
This is one of those rare cases where a main character, with great importance to the essence of the series, becomes a bit opaque in its development. Leonard is brilliant but throughout the series we do not fail to verify that whatever he prepares will never get him as far as Howard and Sheldon did. In addition, her mother is very clear to reaffirm it.
The subject of Penny aside, Leonard has the main role in the story basically as Sheldon's best friend, who puts up with everything to the brilliant theoretical physicist, helps him, explains how things work in society and occasionally also scolds him for not behave as it should. Come on, it's an Amy but in a male version. Leonard is definitely nice, but he can't be the best in the series.
Sheldon Cooper
If you saw the series by default, you already knew when you got here: Sheldon Cooper is the best character in The Big Bang Theory! The super-intelligent young man not only has a history of genius in his entire life (the only one who has), but as he explains in one of the chapters, technically it was he who ended up uniting the whole group in one way or another.
His ego through the roof, the hateful phrases against Leonard, even the coldness with which he treats Amy in most of the series is masterfully surpassed with a last chapter that completely filled the expectations with the followers of the series (Yes, better than the end of Game of Thrones).
Killing two birds with a single shot, the producers place us in the last chapter not only before Sheldon's achievement that places him well above Leonar, Howard and Rajesh professionally by obtaining a Nobel with Amy, but with a speech where at He finally seems to understand the problems that his personality has created in the group and explains what he really feels, reaching the hearts of his friends and fans.
Just because of that great turn of the producers to the character, which shaped the best ending that could be conceived of for the series and excuses / explains Sheldon's personality, this is the best character ever.
