Chocolate drinks to enjoy at home

Starting your day with a hot drink is energizing not only because it takes away the cold, but it also awakens your senses. Be it coffee, chocolate, milk or tea, hot drinks cannot be absent.

For this reason I bring you two delicious chocolate drinks that you can prepare in the morning or in the afternoon. One is accompanied by orange and the other with hazelnuts.

Choose the one you like the most, and why not prepare both of them? They are different recipes, although you will undoubtedly love the result. Here are the recipes:

Chocolate drink with oranges

This is a creamy drink with a lot of smell. The thickness will be given by the starch, so if you want less or thicker you can remove it or just add a little.

But please do not exceed the recommended measure, since you can even change the taste of the drink.

You will need for the chocolate with orange

  • 1 cinnamon stick,

  • 1 orange,

  • 1 liter of milk,

  • ½ cup of sugar,

  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch,

  • ½ half cup of orange juice,

  • 400 grams of chocolate,

  • 1 cup of water.

How to prepare it?

1. Start by grating the chocolate to make it easier to dissolve in the preparation.

2. Now, remove the zest from the orange and the juice from the fruit separately.

3. This preparation will be done over medium heat. Place the orange juice, cinnamon, sugar and zest in a pot. Lead to fire.

4. Allow considering until it takes the texture of a thick syrup and remove from heat. Make sure before continuing to remove the cinnamon.

5. Then, it is time to add the milk and return to the fire. Mix well and wait until bubbles start to form on the edge of the milk.

6. This is the precise moment where the chocolate should be added and dissolve very well.

7. Now, while this is happening, prepare the cornstarch in water and add it to the mixture with the chocolate.

8. Keep stirring until the liquid has evaporated a little and the mixture takes the texture of your liking. And that's it!

9. Serve in your favorite cup with an orange slice or shards.

Chocolate with hazelnuts and spices

This is a slightly more dawn preparation, since it is a gastronomic version of hot chocolate. According to the season and the moment of serving it can even be considered a dessert.

Let's see what this rich preparation is about.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of grated ginger,

  • 1 pinch of nutmeg,

  • 1 Tahitian vanilla,

  • 1 liter of milk,

  • 3 cardamom vanillas,

  • 1-star anise,

  • 1 pinch of ground chili.

  • QS Timut pepper and verbena.

For the chocolate

  • 200 grams of coconut sugar,

  • 180 grams of Ecuadorian Chocolate

For the foam

  • 100 grams of sugar,

  • 100 grams of syrup,

  • 300 grams of milk,

  • 300 milliliters of water,

  • 450 grams of hazelnuts

Orange.

For the hawthorn sorbet

  • 500 grams of sugar,

  • 750 grams of water,

  • 500 grams of hazelnuts,

  • 75 grams stabilizes give you sorbet.

How to prepare the corn for you are hazelnuts and spices?

1. The first thing is to toast the Timut pepper and the cardamom in a pot.

2. Add the milk and the rest of the ingredients except the verbena.

3. Let it cook at about 80 °C, but avoid reaching the boiling point.

4. After a few minutes, remove from heat and cover. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

5. After time, add the verbena, stir and let cool.

For the chocolate

6. Place the chocolate in a saucepan, sift the milk into the chocolate and heat while stirring to about 75 °C.

7. After a few minutes, add the sugar to taste.

For the hawthorn foam

8. We continue with the preparation and mix the ingredients in a pot at 80 °C. You will know that you have reached the point when the hazelnuts have completely opened.

9. Strain and let cool.

10. Take to a special foam jar and store in the fridge.

For the hawthorn sorbet

11. Mix all the ingredients and cook until a good boil.

12. Let cook over low heat for about 15 minutes.

13. When finished, strain and let cool. Make the sherbet with a sip.

Presentation

To serve the chocolate you can do it in elongated glasses and finish by placing the hawthorn foam.

Also, place a scoop of hawthorn sorbet next to it. One of the characteristics of this drink is the bittersweet flavor that emerges and the contrast of heat and cold that is great.

Both recipes give an exceptional flavor to the drink. Certainly one is more elaborate than the other, but they are totally worth it. Get out of the routine and prepare these delicacies to start the day with more energy.
