The apple is a deciduous fruit tree of the Rosaceae family, it has more than 2,000 species of herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees that are distributed by temperate regions in the world.
Origin of the apple
The apple tree originates from temperate zones of Europe, Turkestan from its western part and from the central part of Asia. It is a fruit that has been consumed and cultivated since ancient times, it is believed that there may be evidence of apple trees in Switzerland and Italy for 4,500 years.
It was brought by the Spanish conquerors in the sixteenth century and from there it spread its cultivation to different parts of the world, it can be said that the apple has been both consumed and cultivated since ancient times and today this fruit tree is the most cultivated around of the world.
Some of the countries that have more apple production are those that have regions of temperate climates, the main productive countries of apples are Europe, the United States, Turkey and China.
