Samsung Unpacked 2022: here's what is known
As usual, every year the technological giants offer in style each of their innovative devices to all their customers. Such is the case of Samsung Unpacked 2022, which is already known to take place on February 9.
If you are a fan of the products that Samsung brings, you can participate in the online event, totally live. However, you must be attentive and get up early, since it would take place around 10 in the morning.
What is expected to be announced
Until now, Samsung has been in charge of keeping everything secret, avoiding any type of leak as much as possible.
However, avoiding any type of leak is like covering the sun with a finger. In such circumstances is the long-awaited new line of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S22 .
Even so, another class of devices is still expected to appear that will catapult Samsung to the top. We will have to wait to see if they have the necessary quality to stay in the market, due to the high competition.
Galaxy Tab S8
One of the devices expected to be announced is the Galaxy S8 tablet. Indeed, the main difference with its previous generation is the number of models that we will have available.
So it will take the example from the new S22 line, thus presenting a basic S8 tablet, with a Tab S8 Plus, and a Tab S8 Ultra. It should be noted that, for now, these are only rumors.
For the latest version (Ultra), we would have one of the largest tablets on the market, specifically with 14.6 inches. The most important thing would be its refresh rate, with a capacity of 120 HZ.
Finally, it would have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM, and approximately 512 GB of storage memory.
As for the standard Tab S8 and Plus, their screens would feature 2K OLED, 11 and 12.7 inches respectively. Likewise, they equip the same refresh rate and the same processor, but with a decreased RAM.
A point to keep in mind in this new line of Samsung tablets are the cameras, innovating with a section of two front lenses. Both would have 12 MP, where one would be intended for making video calls.
On the back, all models will have a 13 MP camera, in addition to a 6 MP ultra-wide sensor.
Prices are expected to be between 700 and 1,300 dollars, starting from the standard model, but we must wait for the official announcement.
The return of the S Pen
Forgotten since the last Galaxy Note launch in 2020, it seems that the S Pen is back to stay. And it is that, the new S22 line is considered a fusion between the Note range with traditional designs.
It is an element that, for designers and people who work with their mobile devices, they were sorely missing.
In this regard, TM Roh himself, CEO of Samsung, commented on the ability of the S Pen to be compared to ink on paper. In effect, he emphasized that it is an experience that they want to bring back to their users.
In the same order of ideas, with the aim of improving the user experience, they improved the input latency to approximately 2.8 milliseconds. Compared to the previous generation of the S Pen, it represents a sea change.
Latency, remember, is the time the device takes to read and respond to the stylus's interaction with the device's software.
Galaxy Home Mini 2
Although it is not one of the most anticipated products, it is still a novelty within the launches scheduled for Samsung Unpacked 2022. On the other hand, there are no official announcements regarding its manufacture.
However, rumors indicate that the Chinese technology company wants to bring a second generation of the smart speaker back to the market. But, with the difference that it would be marketed globally, not like the 2020 version that was only released for South Korea.
On the other hand, few features or leaks are known about its design or what it will bring new. The only thing that is known is that it could incorporate a screen to facilitate the handling of the interface.
Samsung Galaxy S22, the most anticipated
Undoubtedly, the most anticipated products and for which there is great expectation, is the new line of smartphones.
In this sense, the Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to be presented in three different models, which would be:
Samsung Galaxy S22 Standard.
Samsung Galaxy S22+.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
However, the Ultra would be the newest device since its design would be similar to Samsung's Note versions. And to this is added the incorporation of the S Pen, which will be present in all three models.
It should be noted that, for the United States market, and some certain regions of Asia, the S22 would be marketed with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. For the rest of the world, they would test with the Exynos 2200 in terms of processor.
But, what would be most surprising about the new mobiles, according to new leaks, is the reduction in battery power.
In the case of the basic S22, we would have a power of just 3,800 mAh, where the next model would have 4,600 mAh, and the Ultra, with 5,000 mAh.
There is no doubt that it is a total step backwards if we take into account that the competition increasingly includes more powerful batteries to increase the autonomy of their smartphones.
Samsung Unpacked 2022: BTS will be present again
With the aim of increasing their sales, in what could be a marketing strategy, the participation of the Asian band in the event was confirmed.
Due to the resounding success of its participation in last year's unpacked event, Samsung would seek to repeat the formula.
Even so, the role that the members of the most famous K-Pop band in the world will play is still not known for sure.
But, there is no doubt that it is a hasty strategy of the big technology company in order to position itself much better in the market. And it is that, in recent years, they have not been able to keep up with their competitors, falling behind in a large way.
Samsung eliminates the darkness with 3D technology: another advertising campaign for its unpacked 2022
With the event just around the corner, Samsung continues to strive to attract a significant number of customers for its official announcement.
For this occasion, they showed the capabilities at a photographic level, especially in environments where light is scarce. How? Through an advertisement with 3D technology that has a tiger as the protagonist, giving the sensation of "coming out of the screen".
The campaign, dubbed “Tiger in the City”, will be present on the largest 3D screens in major cities around the world. Indeed, the Samsung tiger will be displayed in New York, London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul.
The goal is to give the public a taste of the capabilities that its new line of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S22, will have. This range of smartphones will be present during the Samsung Unpacked 2022 on February 9.
Samsung Unpacked 2021: price and everything we saw last year
Back then, the main and most anticipated product was, what will be now, the predecessor of the Samsung S22.
Indeed, we are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra , whose official announcement was on January 29, 2021. At the time, it was the brand's most powerful Smartphone, with innovative features in its processor and RAM.
It was presented in 4 different colors: white, black, phantom violet and phantom pink. In addition, what established the difference between the three models was the capacity of the RAM, also defining its price.
· 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for 1,259 euros.
· 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 1,309 euros.
· 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for 1,439 euros.
Considering such prices, it seems that the new range, the S22 Ultra, will have a much cheaper price in comparison. And it is that, this version, is rumored that it will not exceed 1,100 euros in value.
Galaxy Bud Pro
In the 2021 unpacked, the brand's wireless headphones were also announced, which were direct competition from Apple's Airpods.
With an autonomy of up to 5 hours, in addition to excellent external noise cancellation, they were presented at a price of 239 euros.
Unfortunately, there is no information, not even rumours, that Samsung Unpacked 2022 will bring a new generation of these.
