iPhone 13 vs. Galaxy S22, which is better?
Being two of the most recognized brands worldwide, it is logical that their products are seen in constant comparison. After the arrival of Samsung's latest line, the Galaxy S22 , it's time for its comparison with its counterpart, the iPhone 13.
It should be noted that they are the latest smartphones from both Apple and Samsung, the latter being the most recent. But, to know which one is better between the two, it is better to read on.
Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S22 vs. iPhone 13
Although Xiaomi has had a recent impact on the market, the truth is that users always opt for the traditional. And that, in addition, in this case they also have quality features by Apple and Samsung.
Such is the case of its last two mobile devices, which have been responsible for further extending the technological barriers.
Design
The first thing that should be taken into account when evaluating both devices is their design.
For both models, the companies have opted for the conventional, maintaining a design line similar to previous versions.
In the case of the iPhone, one of the details that stands out are the rounded corners, but with totally linear frames, made of glass. In addition, as has been the case, the camera module is arranged with two diagonally oriented sensors.
The only thing that has seen changes is in the notch, which has been significantly reduced in size to take up less space on the screen.
For Samsung, they followed the same line of using glass materials, combined with aluminum to gain greater resistance. Also, the difference with respect to the iPhone is the arrangement of the photographic lenses, positioned vertically, in a straight line.
cameras
Samsung and Apple have always been at the forefront of new technologies that aim to improve photo taking. Indeed, there are many smartphones on the market that equip Samsung lenses and sensors in their cameras.
On this occasion, the iPhone 13 is equipped with a 12 MP main sensor, which works with a focal length of 26 mm. To this is added a 7-element lens, with f / 1.6 aperture and automatic optimal stabilization.
Similarly, the other lens is made up of a 12 MP ultra wide angle as well. However, its focal length is 13 mm, accompanied by a 5-element lens and an f/2.4 aperture.
On the other hand, the camera of the new S22 is presented with a powerful 50 MP main sensor. In turn, it works with a 24mm focal length and an f/1.8 aperture.
Its other lenses are made up of a 12 MP ultra wide angle, as well as a 10 MP telephoto sensor.
In terms of quality, both mobiles offer you a photo capture as close to the professional level.
Screen
When it comes to their flagship smartphones, each of their elements is of the best possible class. Such is the case of the screens, which are the main ones in charge of providing a better visual experience to the users.
Apple, in its latest model, equips it with a Super-Retina XDR panel, the size of which reaches approximately 6 inches. In image quality, it works with a resolution of 2,532 x 1,1170 pixels, in addition to incorporating OLED technology.
However, only in version 13 Pro and Pro Max, the iPhone works with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. For the rest of the models, it does not exceed 60 Hz.
Now, for the Samsung Galaxy S22 and its screen, they are similar in that it also has OLED technology. Similarly, its size is practically the same, reaching 6.1 inches.
Instead, his resolution becomes less than his opponent, but the difference is not so abysmal. Specifically, it has 2,340 x 1,080 pixels ; Even so, the advantage is that its refresh rate is variable, where it even reaches 120 Hz.
Battery
One of the virtues that any mobile should best offer is its autonomy, where the battery and the operating system play an important role.
Those of Apple have achieved the exact formula so that its operating system and its processors optimize the work of the mobile much better. In this way, the battery is not as affected by constant use, allowing it to last longer with less.
In this sense, the iPhone 13 battery reaches around 3,200 mAh, which, compared to other brands, is much lower. But, as we mentioned before, its iOS operating system is the one that plays a crucial role in its autonomy.
However, the Pro version does see a big increase in its capacity, where it reaches more than 4,000 mAh of durability.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 works thanks to a 3,700 mAh battery, being larger than the base version of the iPhone.
Power
Among the biggest gaps that Apple has made with the competition is the processing of its devices. And it is that, they have incredible fluidity and capacity for multitasking that the user needs, always showing high performance.
It is largely thanks to the brand's own chips, where in this case, the 13 model works with an A15 Bionic. These processors work with a 6-core CPU, where 4 of them are dedicated to improving the efficiency of the device, reaching speeds of 3.23 GHz.
However, great credit must be given to Samsung, where every year it has managed to catch up with Apple in terms of processors. The S22 has an Exynos 2000 brain, which incorporates up to 8 cores inside.
In detail, 4 of those cores are dedicated solely to the efficiency of the mobile, just like its main rival. But, add 3 more that will be used exclusively in tasks that demand much more work from the processor. The latter is characterized by being of high power.
iPhone 13 vs. Samsung Galaxy S22: price and which is cheaper
One of Apple's characteristics is that it maintains the prices of its products practically unchanged over time. Since its launch, the iPhone 13 has an approximate value of 909 euros ; clearly if you buy it in official departments.
It should be noted that, on the eve of the announcement of the new iPhone 14, it is most likely that the 13 model may drop in price on the market.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S22, recently announced at the Samsung Unpacked 2022, is available for a price of 859 euros.
In total, the difference would be around 50 euros, resulting in the Samsung mobile as the cheapest between the two.
For the comparison of the iPhone 13 vs. Galaxy S22, it is quite difficult to define which is the best of the two. In the end, it will depend on the preferences of the people in terms of operating system, since another contest that prevails over time is iOS vs. Android.
In short, there is no failure in the investment of any of the two smartphones, since the quality and performance offered is not seen in other brands.
