The great fall of 'Netflix': announces new plan to renew the platform

A couple of days ago, Netflix executives decided to come up with new policies and systematic strategies, to ensure the best optimization of the platform. The news has caught the attention of users, since, in the coming months, the streaming giant will undergo major changes, which are causing controversy in the media.

One of the main reasons for innovation has to do with the abysmal loss of platform users. Netflix has lost more than 200,000 subscribers since the beginning of 2022, while managers were estimating an increase that would boost them to 2.5 million active users.

This has been the strongest drop that Netflix has had since 2011, after the great loss of 50 million dollars. Therefore, the executive directors of the company have begun to get down to work to solve this decline in the user graph.

Netflix announces the arrival of ads and the end of 'shared accounts'

Recently, a new modality was announced that includes aspects never seen before in the streaming giant, which includes the implementation of ads and a 'debug'.

Since, the directors of Netflix affirm that the situation they are going through has to do directly with shared accounts and the arrival of new companies.

“Our relatively high household penetration, including the large number of households sharing accounts, combined with competition, is creating headwinds to revenue growth. The great push of COVID to 'streaming' darkened the landscape until recently," said the board of directors from the platform.

This has marked the beginning of great projects that Netflix will be presenting in the coming periods of the year, including new strategies to monetize the portal in another way.

The streaming platform has been characterized by its efficiency and has never had ads, thousands of users have been angry about this new news.

In addition, the streaming company will be progressively eliminating shared accounts between households, since, on 4 screens, up to 5 families can be hosted. It is the cause of the fall of Netflix and that is why managers will find a way for each user to pay for their own service.

Netflix: subscriptions at low cost, but monetized with ads

It should be noted that, during a company statement through its official Twitter account, they announced their next step in 2022. Netflix ruled that it will begin charging subscriptions for its screens at low cost so that all people can pay for it., but it will start to have ads, just like a 'free' platform.

This will be the way in which the directors plan to raise the estimated funds that they have maintained for the last decade and it will be the last resort that they will implement in their new reform plan.

However, the ads will be used while trying to resolve the company's irregularity and it is estimated that they will be removed in March of next year.

The new changes to the streaming platform will begin to be presented in mid-July 2022. In the coming weeks, Netflix will be offering new details about its products through its social networks.
